About
An independent studio that builds its own products.
Flying Black Cat Studios designs, builds, and operates a growing portfolio of digital products for everyday life. We are not primarily a contract software-development agency — we make things we own, run, and keep improving.
What we do
A product studio, not an agency
Most of our work goes into our own portfolio: finding a real, ordinary problem, building something focused, putting it in front of people, and improving it until it earns its keep.
AI is woven through all of it — research, design exploration, engineering, testing, operations, marketing, and support. It gives a small studio genuine reach. It does not give the studio permission to stop thinking.
What we believe
Seven things we keep on the wall
Useful beats impressive.
A product that quietly works is worth more than one that demos well.
Clear beats complicated.
If it needs a tutorial to be understood, we probably haven't finished designing it.
Small products can solve meaningful problems.
Scope is a design tool, not a limitation.
AI should amplify judgment, not replace accountability.
Machines can do the work. People own the consequences.
Good design respects people's time.
Fewer steps, fewer decisions, less noise.
Businesses can create value without becoming soulless.
Sustainable and decent are not opposites.
Experimentation is part of the work.
Some ideas will not survive contact with reality. That's the point.
Where we're going
A multidisciplinary studio, built deliberately
The direction we're building toward is a studio where human specialists and AI systems work together across the full range of disciplines a real product company needs.
To be clear: these are not existing departments. Today the studio is small. This is where it is heading, not a description of an org chart that already exists.
